ARTICLE I PURPOSE It is the purpose of this compact to remove barriers to education success imposed on children of military families because of frequent moves and deployment of their parents by: A. Facilitating the timely enrollment of children of military families and ensuring that they are not placed at a disadvantage due to difficulty in the transfer of education records from the previous school district(s) or variations in entrance/age requirements. B. Facilitating the student placement process through which children of military families are not disadvantaged by variations in attendance requirements, scheduling, sequencing, grading, course content or assessment. C. Facilitating the qualification and eligibility for enrollment, educational programs, and participation in extracurricular academic, athletic, and social activities. D. Section 10A-20-7.07 Directors and officers. (a) The business and affairs of the corporation shall be managed and conducted by a board of directors, a president, a vice-president, a secretary, a treasurer, and other officers and agents as the corporation by its bylaws shall authorize. Section 10A-3-2.08 Governing authority; board of directors. (a) All corporate powers shall be exercised by or under authority of, and the business and affairs of a nonprofit corporation shall be managed under the direction of a board of directors except as may be otherwise provided in this chapter or the certificate of formation. Section 10A-2A-8.58 Variation by corporate action; application of division. Section 27-30-30 Directors or trustees. (a) The affairs of every domestic mutual aid association shall be governed by a board of directors or board of trustees consisting of not less than seven members, each of whom must be a member or stockholder of the corporation.
