Section 41-14A-2 Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following words and terms shall have the following meanings: (1) AVERAGE MONTHLY BALANCE OF PUBLIC DEPOSITS. The sum of the average daily balances of public deposits, meaning the net average daily balances of public deposits determined without any deduction for deposit insurance, for the reported month and the 11 months preceding that month, divided by 12. (2) BOARD OF DIRECTORS or BOARD. The Board of Directors of the SAFE Program established under Section 41-14A-6. The board of directors shall consist of eight members. (3) COLLATERAL-PLEDGING LEVEL or COLLATERAL-PLEDGING REQUIREMENT. Section 10A-2A-8.58 Variation by corporate action; application of division. (a) A corporation may, by a provision in its certificate of incorporation, bylaws, or in a resolution adopted or a contract approved by the board of directors or stockholders, obligate itself in advance of the act or omission giving rise to a proceeding to provide indemnification in accordance with Section 10A-2A-8.51 or advance funds to pay for or reimburse expenses in accordance with Section 10A-2A-8.53. Section 10A-2A-8.31 Standards of liability for directors. Section 40-14A-22 Levy and amount of tax. (a) Levy of tax. There is hereby levied an annual privilege tax on every corporation, limited liability entity, and disregarded entity doing business in Alabama, or organized, incorporated, qualified, or registered under the laws of Alabama.
