Section 33-18-1 Alabama-Coosa-Tallapoosa River Basin Compact. The State of Alabama hereby agrees to the following interstate compact known as the Alabama-Coosa-Tallapoosa River Basin Compact: Alabama-Coosa-Tallapoosa River Basin Compact The States of Alabama and Georgia and the United States of America hereby agree to the following compact which shall become effective upon enactment of concurrent legislation by each respective state legislature and the Congress of the United States. (a) The following items shall be deducted from federal taxable income for purposes of computing taxable income under this chapter: (1) Refunds of state and local income taxes. Section 40-26B-76 Notice of assessment. (a)(1) The department shall send a notice of assessment to each privately operated hospital informing the hospital of the assessment rate, the hospital's net patient revenue calculation, and the estimated assessment amount owed by the hospital for the applicable fiscal year. (2) Annual notices of assessment shall be sent at least 30 days before the due date for the first quarterly assessment payment of each fiscal year. (b)(1) The privately operated hospital shall have 30 days from the date of its receipt of a notice of assessment to review and verify the assessment rate, the hospital's net patient revenue calculation, and the estimated assessment amount. (a) A stock insurer other than a title insurer may become a mutual insurer under such plan and procedure as may be approved by the commissioner after a hearing thereon.
