Section 40-27-1 Compact adopted; terms. The following Multistate Tax Compact is hereby approved, adopted and enacted into law by the State of Alabama: Multistate Tax Compact Article I. Purposes. The purposes of this compact are to: 1. Facilitate proper determination of state and local tax liability of multistate taxpayers, including the equitable apportionment of tax bases and settlement of apportionment disputes. 2. Promote uniformity or compatibility in significant components of tax systems. 3. Facilitate taxpayer convenience and compliance in the filing of tax returns and in other phases of tax administration. 4. Avoid duplicative taxation. Article II. Definitions. As used in this compact: 1. "State" means a state of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or any territory or possession of the United States. 2. Section 10A-1-3.41 Certificated or uncertificated ownership interest. (a) Ownership interests in a domestic entity may be certificated or uncertificated. (b) The ownership interests in a business corporation, real estate investment trust, or professional corporation must be certificated unless the governing documents of the entity or a resolution adopted by the governing authority of the entity states that the ownership interests are uncertificated. Section 10A-1-3.45 Notice for uncertificated ownership interest. (a) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (c) and in accordance with Article 8 of Title 7, after issuing or transferring an uncertificated ownership interest, a domestic entity shall notify the owner of the ownership interest in writing of any information required under this division to be stated on a certificate representing the ownership interest. (b) Except as otherwise expressly provided by law, the rights and obligations of the owner of an uncertificated ownership interest are the same as the rights and obligations of the owner of a certificated ownership interest of the same class and series. (a) Whenever, in the opinion of the city official or any other city employee designated by the mayor, a nuisance exists, the official shall order the owner of the property on which the nuisance is located to abate the condition. (b) The enforcing official shall give the owner written notice in person or by certified letter with signature of receipt required. Section 11-65-22 Acquisition of interest in horse racing facility licensee or operator. (a) A disqualified person may not acquire or hold an interest in a horse racing facility licensee or an operator.
