Section 9-6-2 Definitions. The following words and phrases used in this chapter and others evidently intended as the equivalent thereof shall, in the absence of clear implication in this chapter otherwise, be given the following respective interpretations: (1) APPLICANT. A natural person who files a written application with the Governor in accordance with the provisions of Section 9-6-4. (2) AREA OF OPERATION. The area specified in the certificate of incorporation of the authority, within which the authority is empowered to carry on its business and activities under this chapter. (3) AUTHORITY. A public corporation organized pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. (4) BOARD. The board of directors of an authority. (5) BONDS. Section 9-7-10 Definitions. The following terms, whenever used in this chapter shall have the following respective meanings unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) COASTAL AREA. The coastal waters, including the lands therein and thereunder, and the adjacent shorelands, including the waters therein and thereunder, strongly influenced by each and in proximity to the shorelines of Alabama and including transitional and intertidal areas, salt marshes, wetlands, and beaches. Section 27-27-43 Mutualization of stock insurers. (a) A stock insurer other than a title insurer may become a mutual insurer under such plan and procedure as may be approved by the commissioner after a hearing thereon. (a) Legal expense insurance may be written as individual, group, blanket, or franchise insurance. Each contractual obligation for legal expense insurance must be evidenced by a policy.
