Affairs Rd 1 20-FEB-20 SYNOPSIS: Under existing law, with the exception of counties with populations
in excess of 600,000, the county commission, the county board of education, and incorporated
municipalities within the county are authorized to nominate candidates to serve on the county’s
board of equalization. The Commissioner of Revenue, with the approval of the Governor, appoints
three individuals as members of the board of equalization, one each from the nominations submitted
by each of the nominating bodies. If a nominating body fails to submit any nominations, the
membership of the board cannot be completely filled. This bill would authorize the Commissioner
of the Department of Revenue to make appointments to the board from nominations submitted
by any of the nominating bodies in the event that a nominating body fails to submit a nomination.

wireless facilities from certain zoning review and approval procedures; to establish a procedure
for the permitting of the development of small wireless facilities and poles in the rights-of-way
of the state; and to establish rates and fees for all permits for small wireless facilities.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: Section 1. When used in this act, the following

This bill would provide that the director may appoint up to 11 executive level employees.
This bill would also allow the Port Authority to enter into employment contracts with former
employees for the transitional period following their retirement, subject to certain limitations.
This bill would also provide that the commercial terms of certain contracts entered into by
