By Representatives Jackson, McCampbell and Howard HB164 ENROLLED, An Act, Relating to the Town of Thomaston in Marengo County; to authorize the sale of certain alcoholic beverages on Sundays within the corporate limits of the town. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: Section 1. This act only applies in the Town of Thomaston in Marengo County. Section 2. The sale of alcoholic beverages on Sundays is authorized within the corporate limits of the town. The governing body of the town, by ordinance, may regulate and permit the sale of alcoholic beverages on Sunday by properly licensed retail licensees of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board who are responsible vendors. Section 3. This act shall become effective immediately following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law. The sale of alcoholic beverages after 1:00 p.m. on Sundays may be authorized by the city council within the corporate limits of the City of Lincoln after approval by a referendum as provided in this act. If the Sunday sale of alcoholic beverages is approved by a referendum, the city council of the city, by ordinance, may permit the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages on Sunday after 1:00 p.m. as determined by the city council by properly licensed retail licensees of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board.
