This bill would revise the titles of certain types of advanced practice registered nurses and revise the scope of practice of advanced practice nursing. This bill would authorize clinical nurse specialists to engage in collaborative practices with licensed physicians in certain circumstances. This bill would also prohibit an individual from engaging in the practice of advanced practice nursing unless he or she is certified by the Board of Nursing and provide for penalties. Amendment 621 of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, now appearing as Section 111.05 of the Official Recompilation of the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, as amended, prohibits a general law whose purpose or effect would be to require a new or increased expenditure of local funds from becoming effective with regard to...
