State Superintendent of Education is required to be of good moral character, with academic

who is knowledgeable in school administration, and has training and experience sufficient
to qualify him or her to perform the duties of the office. This bill would require a candidate
for appointment to the position of State Superintendent of Education to possess qualifications
similar to those required of a candidate for the position of county superintendent of education.
