SB358 By Senators Shelnutt and Smitherman ENROLLED, An Act, Relating to Jefferson County and the General Retirement System for Employees of the county; to amend Sections 45-37-123.01 and 45-37-123.50, Code of Alabama 1975, to provide that employees of the retirement system are eligible to become members of the retirement system and to provide that a part-time employee who occupies a position in the civil service system of the county would have the option to become a member of the retirement system by filing a declaration with the pension board. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:Section 1. Section 45-37-123.01, Code of Alabama 1975, is amended to read as follows: §45-37-123.01. "For the purposes of this part, the following terms shall have the following meanings: "(1) ACT.
