Rd 1 09-FEB-17 SYNOPSIS: Under existing law, credit unions must be examined at least annually
by employees of the Alabama Credit Union Administration. This bill would require credit unions
to be examined by employees of the Alabama Credit Union Administration at least every 18 months.
A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT Relating to credit unions; to amend Section 5-17-8, Code of Alabama
1975, as amended by Act 2016-133, 2016 Regular Session, to extend the time for how often a
credit union must be examined by employees of the Alabama Credit Union Administration from
every 12 months to every 18 months. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:Section 1.

and notice to individuals whose personal information has been breached. This bill would require
specified entities, including governmental entities and third-party agents, to notify the
Attorney General and the individual owners of personal information upon a data security breach.
