SB362 SYNOPSIS: Under existing law, members of the Alabama National Guard who are called into
active duty for 30 consecutive days or more, including state active duty, are granted the
benefits of the federal Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act. This bill
would specify that the law would apply to members of the national guard of another state and
would delete the requirement that the active duty be for 30 consecutive days. A BILL TO BE
ENTITLED AN ACT Relating to the Alabama National Guard and members of the national guard of
other states; to amend Section 31-12-2 of the Code of Alabama 1975, to further provide for
certain rights when called to active duty. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:Section
1. Section 31-12-2 of the Code of Alabama 1975, is amended to read as follows: §31-12-2.
