may elect on an annual basis to be exempt from workers' compensation insurance coverage by
notifying the Department of Labor and his or her insurance carrier. This bill would remove
the requirement that a corporate officer notify the Department of Labor when he or she elects
to be exempt from workers' compensation insurance coverage. This bill would provide that once
exempt from workers' compensation coverage, the officer would continue to be exempt until

basis. As a part of the registration, the owner applies for a number assigned to the vessel.
The owner is required to paint or attach the number to each side of the bow of the vessel
and to attach decals for annual registration. This bill would require the Alabama Law Enforcement
Agency to issue five-year identification number stickers to be placed on both sides of the
bow of the vessel. The cost of the identification number stickers, upon collection, would
be paid to the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources earmarked for the operation
of the state parks. The bill would further authorize the owner of a vessel to obtain identification
stickers supporting any organization authorized to obtain a distinctive motor vehicle license

Alabama. However, there are few provisions in place to protect consumers against individual
income tax preparers that repeatedly misrepresent information on their tax returns. This legislation
would require certain tax preparers to register with the Department, prior to preparing returns,
which will help regulate services, prohibit unregistered persons from performing said services,
and establish penalties for violators. It would also establish qualifications for registration,
requirements of disclosures to consumers, and exemptions to those obligated to register. The
