only in non-municipal general elections, and all write-in votes are counted if the voter properly
writes the name on the ballot and registers the vote by a mark in the space designated for
that particular office. This bill would amend the current law to provide that write-in votes
for a specific office would be counted at the same time as provisional ballots are counted
if the number of write-in votes for that office is greater than or equal to the difference
in votes between the two candidates receiving the greatest number of votes for that office.

SYNOPSIS: Under current law, an additional circuit judgeship was created in the 29th Judicial

been amended multiple times to delay filling such judgeship. The judgeship is to be filled
in 2016 under current law. This bill would repeal the provision providing for the establishment

to authorize Class 5 municipalities to file an expedited quiet title and foreclosure action
in circuit court to establish clear title to abandoned tax sale properties within the corporate
limits that are acquired from the State Land Commissioner pursuant to Chapter 10, Title 40,
Code of Alabama 1975; and to provide for the procedure and due process for the action in circuit
court. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: Section 1. This act shall apply only in
a Class 5 municipality and provides the exclusive procedure for an expedited quiet title and
foreclosure action for a Class 5 municipality, notwithstanding Section 24-9-8, Code of Alabama

is alleged to have committed a capital offense, other specified felonies, and certain lesser
