a person who died while on active duty in any branch of the United States military, upon payment
of the regular license fees and taxes for motor vehicles and an additional fee of three dollars,
may receive an "Alabama Gold Star Family" distinctive license tag. This bill would
provide that an immediate family member of a person who died while on active duty in any branch
of the United States military could receive one distinctive "Alabama Gold Star Family"
license tag at no additional cost and would be exempt from payment of the motor vehicle registration

the Alabama Innovation Act that would provide for a research and development tax credit to
certain Alabama companies modeled on the federal research and development tax credit. The
credit would be 25 percent of new research at an Alabama research entity, and 5 percent for

services or making certain decisions relating to the medical or surgical treatment of animals.
This bill would include a spay neuter clinic under the definition of a veterinary facility,
and would limit the scope of services offered at a spay neuter clinic. This bill would exempt
licensed veterinarians employed by nonprofit spay neuter clinics from certain prohibitions
against practicing veterinary medicine as an employee of a person not licensed by the board.
