This bill would remove the provision allowing certification if the individual declares his or her intent to become a citizen. Also under existing law, in order to be eligible to sit for the uniform CPA examination, a person must have completed a total of 150 semester hours or 225 quarter hours of education, including a baccalaureate degree at a regionally accredited college or university. This bill would reduce the semester and quarter hours required to 120 and 180, respectively, effective January 1, 2016.
