BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT Relating to Montgomery County; to provide further for the compensation
and expense allowance of the sheriff. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: Section
1. The Sheriff of Montgomery County shall receive an expense allowance of forty thousand dollars
($40,000) thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) per year, payable in equal monthly installments
from the general fund of the county. This expense allowance shall be in addition to all other
compensation or benefits granted to the sheriff and may be treated as compensation for retirement
contributions. Section 2. Effective beginning the next term of office, the annual salary of
the Sheriff of Montgomery County shall be one hundred thirty-five thousand dollars ($135,000)
and the expense allowance provided for in Section 1 shall become null and void. Section 3.
