This bill would change the name of the board from the Alabama Board of Cosmetology and Barbering to the State Board of Cosmetology. This bill would exempt all barbers from licensing and regulation by the board. This bill would revise the membership of the board to increase the number of active cosmetologists serving on the board from two to three, to remove, upon the expiration of their current terms, the two barber members of the board, and to increase the number of active estheticians serving on the board from one to two.
