Under existing law, a licensed attorney who serves as an agent for a title insurance company
is also required to be licensed by the State Insurance Department. This bill would exempt

To amend Section 27-25-3 of the Code of Alabama 1975, relating to the licensure of title insurance
agents by the State Insurance Department, to exempt licensed attorneys from licensure. BE
IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:Section 1. Section 27-25-3 of the Code of Alabama
1975, is amended to read as follows: §27-25-3. "For the purposes of this chapter, the

of Transportation generally on land adjacent to certain federal-aid highways in the state
in compliance with federal law. Under existing law, a "business area" is defined
as any part of an adjacent area which is at any time zoned for business, industrial, or commercial
activities under the authority of any law of this state or areas not zoned but which constitute
an unzoned commercial business or industrial area. This bill would amend the definition of
a "business area" to delete the words "at any time." Under existing law,
the definition of "primary highway" includes a highway other than an interstate
highway at any time officially designated as a part of the federal-aid primary system and

on petroleum products sold, offered for sale, stored, or used in the state. Currently, this
fee is collected by the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries. This bill would
move the collection of the inspection fee that pertains to gasoline to the terminal excise
tax return and dyed diesel fuel, dyed kerosene, and lubricating oil products to a separate
return. This bill would require the Alabama Department of Revenue to collect the fees. This
bill would clarify the definitions used for petroleum products fee under Title 8, Chapter
17, Code of Alabama 1975. This bill would change the disposition of the funds to provide for
an amount to the Alabama Department of Revenue for administration in collecting the fees.
