SYNOPSIS: Under existing law, it is not specifically illegal for the operator of a pickup
truck or similar vehicle to allow a person under the age of 19 to ride in the bed of a pickup
truck. This bill would specifically prohibit the operator of a pickup truck or similar vehicle
from allowing a person age 19 or under to ride in the bed of the pickup truck on a major thoroughfare.
The bill would provide exceptions and would prescribe a penalty for a violation. The bill
would provide for a phased in implementation. Amendment 621 of the Constitution of Alabama

SYNOPSIS: Under existing law, a person convicted of certain violations relating to motor vehicle
accidents is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor if the accident only caused property damage and
a Class C felony if the accident caused death or personal injury. This bill would revise the
penalties to provide that a person convicted of a violation relating to motor vehicle accidents
would be guilty of a Class C felony if he or she caused physical injury and would be guilty
of a Class B felony if he or she caused death or serious physical injury. This bill would
also create the crime of homicide by vehicle or vessel and would provide criminal penalties.

of a consumer debt by any party not in possession of at least a copy of the original contract,
or other documentation evidencing the consumer's liability. This bill would require a creditor

provides uniform rules for the enforcement of family support orders. In 1996, as a condition
of state eligibility for federal funding of child support enforcement, Congress mandated that
each state enact the UIFSA. In 2008, the Uniform Law Commission amended UIFSA to incorporate
the provisions of the Hague Convention on the International Recovery of Child Support of Family
Maintenance into state law. The Convention contains provisions that establish uniform procedures
for the processing of international child support cases. In 2014, Congress enacted the Preventing
