Rd 1 30-APR-15 SYNOPSIS: Under existing law, certain local elected officials are entitled
to the same uniform increases in compensation granted to county employees at the time of adoption
of the budget. This bill would remove the limitation that local elected officials only receive
increases granted at the time the county budget is adopted and would limit any increases to
cost-of-living increases and place a cap on the percentage of increases granted during a four-year
period. A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT Relating to compensation for local elected officials;
to amend Section 11-2A-4, Code of Alabama 1975, to remove the limitation on granting increases
only at time of adoption of a budget; and to limit increases to cost-of-living increases and
