a certified law enforcement officer his or her badge and duty weapons upon retirement. BE
IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: Section 1. This act shall apply only in Washington
County. Section 2. Any person who, at the time of his or her retirement, is a certified law
enforcement officer, shall receive as part of his or her retirement benefit, without cost
to him or her, his or her badge, duty weapons, and any other equipment that the Washington
County Sheriff's Office may designate. Section 3. This act shall become effective on the first
day of the third month following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise
