SYNOPSIS: This bill would authorize the display of the national motto "In God We Trust" in or on any public building or public school in the state.

A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT

Relating to public property; to authorize the display of the national motto "In God We Trust" in or on any public building or public school in the state.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:

Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, any state agency, municipality, county, or other political subdivision, including, but not limited to, a school board, may authorize the display of the national motto "In God We Trust" in or on any public building or public school in the state.

Section 2. This act shall become effective on the first day of the third month following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
