| Body: | Section 45-28A-42.61 Mandatory retirement. The board of trustees shall have the power and authority and it is hereby made mandatory that it shall retire from service in the police and fire departments of any city to which this subpart applies any member thereof, who has attained the age of 65 years, and the board of trustees shall direct the payment to such retired member, monthly, from the fund, the amount of money hereinafter provided for his or her particular position, office, salary, or class of work.
