Body: | Section 34-29-82 Criminal penalties. Any person who shall practice veterinary medicine without a current valid license shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined not less than five hundred dollars ($500) nor more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) or imprisoned for not more than 90 days, or both, and each act of unlawful practice shall constitute a distinct and separate offense. The person, in the discretion of the judge, may be imprisoned or placed at hard labor for not more than six months. (Acts 1986, No. 86-500, p. 956, §23; Acts 1997, No. 97-249, p. 431, §1.) |
