Body: | Section 45-36-71 Terms of office. Notwithstanding Act 65, 1950 Fifth Special Session (Acts 1950-1951 Special and Regular Sessions, p. 126), as amended, the terms of members of the Jackson County Commission shall be staggered as follows: Effective for the general election in 2012, two members of the county commission shall be elected for a term of four years and two members of the county commission and the chair shall be elected for a term of six years. Thereafter, at the general election preceding the expiration of the term of any member of the commission, a successor shall be elected for a term of four years. (Act 2009-16, p. 39, ยง1.) |
