A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT

Relating to the Town of Faunsdale in Marengo County; authorizing the governing body of the Town of Faunsdale to regulate the Sunday sale of alcoholic beverages for on-premises and off-premises consumption by retail restaurant licensees of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board which are within town limits.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:

Section 1. This act only applies to the Town of Faunsdale in Marengo County.

Section 2. (a) The governing body of the Town of Faunsdale, by ordinance, may authorize the sale of alcoholic beverages on Sunday for on-premises and off-premises consumption by retail restaurant licensees of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board which are within the corporate limits of the town. Pursuant to this authority, the governing body of the Town of Faunsdale may regulate any other aspect of the Sunday sale of alcoholic beverages by restaurants for on-premises consumption.

Section 3. The provisions of this act are cumulative and supplemental to the present power and authority of the Town of Faunsdale and are not intended to, nor shall they be interpreted to, repeal any existing power or authority of the governing body that is now permitted under the general laws of the state or under any local or special act of the Legislature.

Section 4. This act shall become effective immediately following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
