HB172

ENROLLED, An Act,

To alter or rearrange the boundary lines of the Town of Union, Greene County, Alabama, so as to include within the corporate limits of said Town all territory now within such corporate limits and also certain other territory contiguous thereto, in Union, Greene County, Alabama.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:

Section 1. The boundary lines of the Town of Union, Greene County, Alabama, be, and the same are hereby altered or rearranged so as to include all of the territory heretofore encompassed by the corporate limits of the Town of Union, and in addition thereto the following described territory, to wit:

Tract No. 1 as shown in Exhibit A and described as: All of the NE1/4 of the NW1/4 of Section 4, Township 23 North, Range 2 East that is located north of County Highway 191.

Tract No. 2 as shown in Exhibit A and described as: The E1/2 of the SE1/4 of the NE1/4 of Section 5, Township 23 North, Range 2 East.

Tract No. 3 as shown in Exhibit A and described as: The W1/2 of the W1/2 of the SW1/4 of Section 4, Township 23 North, Range 2 East.

Tract No. 4 as shown in Exhibit A and described as: A certain tract or parcel of land in the N1/2 of Section 8, Township 23 North, Range 2 East, more particularly described as follows: Begin at the intersection of the Union-Mantua Road and the Union-Snoddy Road; then run in a northeasterly direction along the east margin of the Union-Snoddy Road for a distance of 300 yards, more or less, to a guy pole; then continue in the same direction for a distance of 6 yards to the point of beginning of the tract of parcel of land herein conveyed; then continue in a northeasterly direction along the east margin of the Union-Snoddy Road for a distance of 180 yards; then run in a southeasterly direction at right angles to said road for a distance of 64 yards; then run in a southwesterly direction and parallel to said road for a distance of 120 yards; then run in a westerly direction to the point of beginning.

Tract No. 5 as shown in Exhibit A and described as: A certain tract or parcel of land in the N1/2 of Section 8, Township 23 North, Range 2 East. Begin at the intersection of the Union-Mantua and the Union-Snoddy Roads; thence run in a northeasterly direction along the East margin of the Union-Snoddy Road for a distance of 300 yards, more or less, to a guy pole, thence continue in the same direction for a distance of 186 yards to the point of beginning of the herein described lot; thence run in a Southeasterly direction at right angles to said road for a distance of 210 feet; thence run in a Southwesterly direction and parallel to said road for a distance of 105 feet; thence run in a Northwesterly direction a distance of 210 feet to the East margin of the Union-Snoddy Road; thence run in a Northeasterly direction along the East margin of the Union-Snoddy Road a distance of 105 feet to the point of beginning.

Tract No. 6 as shown in Exhibit A and described as: A certain tract or parcel of land in the N1/2 of Section 8, Township 23 North, Range 2 East. Begin at a point on the east margin of the right-of-way of the new Union Snoddy Road which is the northwest corner of the two-acre tract conveyed by Alma M. Friday and Earnest Friday to President Fulgham and Christine Fulgham on May 5, 1959, in Deed Book No. 54, page 516; thence run in a northeasterly direction along the east margin of the right-of-way of said road for 76 yards, thence run in a southeasterly direction at right angles to said road for 128 yards, thence run in a southwesterly direction and parallel to said road for 128 yards to the point of beginning

Section 2. A map showing the proposed territory to be annexed is on file in the office of the judge of probate in Greene County, Alabama. This map is open to public inspection.

Section 3. This act shall become effective upon its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
