A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT

Relating to Hale County; to authorize an additional fee for certain transactions in the Office of the Judge of Probate; and to provide for the disbursement of the additional fees.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:

Section 1. (a) The Hale County Commission, in addition to any issuance fees currently collected, may set and authorize the judge of probate to collect the additional issuance fees up to the following amounts with regard to each of the following transactions:

(1) License tags: $5

(2) Motor vehicle titles: $2

(3) Mobile home titles: $2

(4) Driver’s licenses: $1.50

(5) Duplicate driver’s licenses: $1.50

(6) Privilege licenses: $25 flat rate plus section codes

(7) Notary fee: $4

(b) The additional issuance fees collected pursuant to subsection (a) shall be paid to the general fund of the county to be used for the operation of the probate office.

Section 2. This act shall become effective on the first day of the third month following the ratification of a constitutional amendment authorizing the Legislature to fix and alter the costs of court in the county.
