A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT

To alter, rearrange, and extend the boundary lines and corporate limits of the municipality of Section in Jackson County.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:

Section 1. The boundary lines and corporate limits of the municipality of Section in Jackson County are altered, rearranged, and extended to include within the corporate limits of the municipality, in addition to the lands now included, all of the following territory:

Beginning on existing Town limits where the south right-of-way of Alabama Highway No. 35 intersects the east line of the SW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 25, Township 5 south, Range 6 east of the Huntsville Meridian, run S 55 degrees 39' 54" E with the said south right-of-way of Alabama No. 35 to a point where the said right-of-way intersects the north line of Section 36, of the said Township and Range; thence continue S 55 degrees 39' 54" E with the said right-of-way to a point where it intersects the west line of Section 31, Township 5 south, Range 7 east; thence continue S 55 degrees 39' 54" E with the said right-of-way 1,950.0 ft. more or less to a point marking the NW corner of the Water Works and Sewer Board of the Town of Section Wastewater Treatment Facilities site; thence leaving the said right-of-way run S 00 degrees 32' 48" E with the west line of the said treatment facilities site 862.11 ft. more or less; thence S 89 degrees 42' 00" E with the south line of the said treatment facilities 1,083.30 ft. more or less to a point on the east line of the SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 31, Township 5 south, Range 7 east; thence N 00 degrees 34' 30" W with the east line of the said SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 and the said treatment facilities site 126.77 ft. more or less to a point of the south right-of-way of the said Alabama Highway No. 35; thence continue N 00 degrees 34' 30" W and crossing the said right-of-way for a distance of 410.00 ft. more or less to a point on the north line of the said right-of-way (125.00 ft. measured perpendicular to the base line); thence N 55 degrees 39' 54" W with the said north right-of-way 270.00 ft. more or less to Highway Station 257+71; thence northwesterly with the meandering right-of-way to Highway Station 228+85 where the said right-of-way is 85 ft. measured perpendicular to the base line; thence northwesterly with the said right-of-way to a point on the east right-of-way of Jackson County Road No. 19 (Meridian Street) being near the east line of Section 25, Township 5 south, Range 6 east; thence southwesterly and crossing the said County Road to highway Station 227+00 where the said right-of-way is 60 ft. measured perpendicular to the base line; thence northwesterly with the meandering right-of-way to the east line SW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 25, Township 5, south Range 6 east; thence south with the east line of the SW 1/4 of the NW 1/4 and crossing Alabama Highway No. 35 for a distance of 350.00 ft. more or less to a point of beginning.

Said corporate limits lying in the SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 and in the NE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 and in the SE 1/4 of Section 25, and in the NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section 36 all being in Township 5 south, Range 6 east, and in the SW 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 30, and in the NW 1/4 of Section 31, all being in Township 5 south, Range 7 east of the Huntsville Meridian in Jackson County, Alabama.

Section 2. In accordance with Section 11-42-6(b) of the Code of Alabama 1975, a map showing what territory is proposed to be annexed to the municipality of Section is on file in the office of the Judge of Probate in Jackson County, Alabama, and the map is open to the inspection of the public.

Section 3. This act shall become effective on the first day of the third month following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
