By Representatives Wood, Ball, Greer and Patterson HB98 ENROLLED, An Act, To add Section 41-27-2.1 to the Code of Alabama 1975; to authorize the Secretary of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency to appoint a designee to perform the duties of Homeland Security Advisor. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: Section 1. Section 41-27-2.1 is added to the Code of Alabama 1975, to read as follows: ยง 41-27-2.1. The Secretary of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency may appoint a designee as the Homeland Security Advisor under subsection (d) of Section 41-27-2. The Secretary of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency shall consider the racial, gender, geographic, urban/rural, and economic diversity of the state when appointing the designee. Section 2. This act shall become effective immediately following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
