ENROLLED, An Act,

Relating to the state Medicaid program; to exempt regional care organizations from the payment of all state, county, and municipal license fees, including any business privilege or license tax.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:

Section 1. Any provision of law to the contrary notwithstanding, regional care organizations, as defined in Section 22-6-150, Code of Alabama 1975, are exempt from the payment of any and all state, county, and municipal license fees, including any business privilege or license tax heretofore or hereafter levied by the State of Alabama or any county or municipality of the state.

The exemptions provided by this section shall not extend to the individual health care providers who are members of the regional care organization.

Section 2. This act shall become effective immediately following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
