SYNOPSIS: This bill would relate to any Class 2 municipality and would allow notices required by a law, a mortgage, or other contract to be published in a newspaper which has not been mailed under the publication class mailing privilege from the United States Postal Service as required in Section 6-8-60, Code of Alabama 1975, provided the newspaper meets all other requirements of the law for publication of notices.

A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT

Relating to Class 2 municipalities; to allow notices required by a law, a mortgage, or other contract to be published in a newspaper which has not been mailed under the publication class mailing privilege from the United States Postal Service as required in Section 6-8-60, Code of Alabama 1975, provided the newspaper meets all other requirements of the law for publication of notices.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:

Section 1. This act shall only apply in Class 2 municipalities.

Section 2. A notice required by any law, mortgage, or other contract to be published in a newspaper may be published in a newspaper which has not been mailed under the publication class mailing privilege from the United States Postal Service as required in Section 6-8-60, Code of Alabama 1975, provided the newspaper meets all other requirements of the law for publication of notices.

Section 3. All laws or parts of laws which conflict with this act are repealed.

Section 4. This act shall become effective immediately following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
